MAX INTERNATIONAL TEAM
CHALLENGE CUP 2005
This weekend has proved to be one of the most exciting and enjoyable for
many years as teams from Japan, Europe, Wales and England battled for the
first three places of the Imax International competition.
Saturday was used as a practice day by the competitors and allowed the
nations attending to way each other up and check out the competition!
luckily the weather remained superb with a stiff breeze blowing down the
court and the sun shining (10mph,SW) upon all the casters and spectators for
all of the competition days.
Japan had traveled several thousand miles to attend and arrived in Wales in
a huge white Limousine! they were truly wonderful people to meet and talk
with and did themselves and their Country proud!
Danny Moeskops the World Champion also made a great effort and bought
along a fellow country man to compete in a mixed European team, blended
with casters from Wales and England.
Team England were as professional as ever with some of the best casters the
UKSF/NFSA could send to us, these guys like to have fun and really excelled
at entertaining their fellow competitors and the applauding spectators. We
were treated to Dennis 'The Menace' Retter and Roger 'Superman' Mortimer
making guest appearances!
Surfcast Wales would like to thank all of the attending nations for the
support shown and would like to see the winning team hold the competition
next year!In 2007, Wales will hold this competition again and we will give
dates and further info later next year and send invites to many more
countries to make this competition bigger and better!
Food and hot/cold drinks were provided for competitors along with male and
female conveniences making an added bonus! for all persons attending this
new competition.
I would like to wish all the casters well for the future and hope their
journeys home are safe and that with out the help of our good Ladies and
Committee the competition may not of been as successful, thank you all.
